Halloween Party with Babaganoush and 8 Foot Felix

9pm (Babaganoush)

Venue:

Sooki Lounge

1648 Burwood Hwy

Belgrave, Victoria

Details:

Sooki Lounge is throwing together a weird and wacky Halloween party with the help of the fantastic alternative gypsy folk pirate themed outfits 8 Foot Felix and Babaganoush.

We want you to come dressed up and ready to dance the dead all the way back to the afterlife!!!

An unusual Gypsy and Eastern Euro folk journey from the Balkans and Greek islands for half of the night with Babaganoush creating a dirgy Halloween atmosphere, followed by Captain Tait and his pirates who'll take you on their seafaring journey across the rocky seas where Tom Waits and Vaudeville meet. Bring your scariest dancing boots along and have a wild time whirling and twirling from one ship to another. Babagnaoush 9pm sharp, 8 Foot Felix: when the ship arrives.

  $10 Entry

(More info on bands)

8Foot Felix - The good ship 8Foot Felix is crafted with Balkan Beats from a thick slice of New Orleans with a heart that pumps from Mexican Ranchero out into the Roots of the Caribbean. Captain Tait steers the ship from his Rhodes-helm – his lyrics mapping out submerged landscapes of the human condition. Over the sweet triumph of the horns, (Jones on Trumpet and Starr on French Horn) Tait’s voice glides from Tom Waits to Vaudeville with many tasty tangents on the way. This whole is held, harmonized and hot-trotted by the trusty talents of Constance (Percussion, Glockenspiel, Dance), McElhinney (Bass), Mountford (Cello, Melodica), Tedford (Fiddle, Mandolin, Guitar) and Turnock (Drums).

Babaganoush combines the best Gypsy & Balkan Music from Eastern Europe. Tantalising spicy melodies & hot rhythms. Their warm, sensuous & intoxicating sounds will have you all mesmerised. The band has an organic beauty that's unforgettable.
